The Hollywood Critics Association has announced their nominees for its inaugural HCA TV Awards. While Apple TV=’s Ted Lasso and Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale lead with the most nominations for a single show, several new television series received multiple nods as well.
Disney+’s WandaVision scored a Best Streaming Limited Series nomination, with much of it’s main cast receiving nominations as well. Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany received Lead Actor nominations, while Randall Park, Kat Dennings, Kathryn Hahn, and Teyonah Parr’s all received Supporting Actor nods.
The HBO dramedy Hacks also received multiple nominations, including Best Streaming Series, Comedy. Jean Smart has been nominated for Best Actress in a Streaming Series, Comedy; while co-stars Hannah Einbinder and Kaitlin Olson received Supporting Actress nominations.
Girls5Eva, the little Peacock comedy series that could, scored multiple nominations as well. In addition to a Best Streaming Series, Comedy nomination, Renee Elise Goldsberry received a nod for Best Actress and Paula Pell was nominated in the Supporting Actress category.
Congratulations are also in store for multi-hyphenate genius Michaela Coel, who is nominated for Best Actress in a Limited Series for HBO’s I May Destroy You, which also received a Best Broadcast Network or Cable Limited Series nomination.
