Former Grey’s Anatomy star Sara Ramirez has signed on to part of another hit television juggernaut: And Just Like That (aka the Sex and the City revival). Ramirez will be a new series regular and will star opposite franchise vets Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis. Original cast member Kim Cattrall will not be reprising her role for the 10-episode HBO Max series. Production is slated to begin this summer in New York City.
Ramirez will play Che Diaz, a non-binary, queer stand-up comedian that works in the media industry along with Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw. Che is described as having an “outrageous sense of humor and progressive.” Che is one of three new series regular roles created for the series, following criticism of the franchise’s lack of diversity among the main cast.
