At the We Speak Out USA’s annual I Am Awards in Washington DC, Noah’s Arc creator Patrik-Ian Polk received a Lifetime Achievement Award for his work in the entertainment industry, however the winner announced that he isn’t done just yet. During his acceptance speech, Polk revealed that there is more Noah’s Arc coming soon!
Series star Darryl Stephens took to social media to elaborate via his Twitter account, in which he stated that a Noah’s Arc film was already in production –being shot in Atlanta– and should be released sometime this year. When asked about a possible return to series, Stephens stated that the film would test the waters for a return to a serialized format. He also revealed that the film will premiere on MTV, and more than likely Paramount+ since Paramount owns MTV, and that all the original cast members are returning.
Noah’s Arc was a groundbreaking dramedy series that premiered on the now defunct Logo, originally conceived as an LGBTQ-focused cable network. It premiered in 2005 and ran for two seasons, spawning a theatrical release movie following it’s cancellation to wrap-up the series’ storylines. The series was the first scripted television show to center around a group of gay black men, which along with Stephens, included Rodney Chester, Christian Vincent, Doug Spearman, and Jensen Atwood. The show tackled such topics as same-sex marriage, infidelity, homophobia, coming out, and HIV/AIDS awareness.
