Everyone’s favorite girl gang is back in a brand-new trailer for the upcoming second season of Netflix’s Warrior Nun. A breakout hit at the height of the pandemic in 2020, the series featured an international cast, primarily composed of women, including Alba Baptista, Kristina Tonteri-Young, and Toya Turner. Warrior Nun follows the story of Ava, a recently deceased party girl who is resurrected by an ancient artifact and ends up getting caught in a battle between the forces of good and evil.
The season 2 trailer of Warrior Nun can be viewed in it’s entirety below.
Last season left on a huge cliffhanger, with Ava and her fellow warriors facing off against the villainous angel Adriel and his mob of demonically-possessed civilians. The first season was a well-done mix of humor, action, and horror not really seen since the days of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. In addition to it’s obvious feminist tone, the show also included strong LGBTQ representation, with the inclusion of Tonteri-Young’s Sister Beatrice, who develops a strong friendship with Baptista’s Ava, leading many to speculate that their bond may develop into something more romantic in season two.
While no official date has been announced, the trailer reveals that the second season of Warrior Nun will be dropping later in 2022, during the winter season.
