GALECA, The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics, have announced their Dorian TV Award nominations for 2025. Now in it’s 16th year, the organization strives to celebrate and highlight excellence in both mainstream and LGBTQ-focused Hollywood projects. With a membership featuring hundreds of the most dedicated writers, journalists, critics, and media advocates, GALECA has become the second largest entertainment journalist group in the world.

This year’s nominees are practically split down the middle between beloved veteran shows, like Hacks and Heartstopper, and new successes, such as The Pitt and Doctor Odyssey. Actors who have recently experienced breakthrough performances include Taylor Dearden, Cooper Koch, and Ike Barinholtz, have joined the ranks of fan favorites of the likes of Kathryn Hahn, Jean Smart, and Colman Domingo in the Best Performance categories. .

The Pitt, HBO/Max’s hit medical drama, scored multiple nominations, including Best TV Drama and Best Written TV Show, along with acting nods for Noah Wyle, Katherine LaNasa, and Dearden.

Marvel’s pleasantly surprising sensation, Agatha All Along, also landed a variety of mentions, most notably, Best LGBTQ TV Show, Most Visually Striking TV Show, Best TV Musical Performance for “The Ballad of the Witches’ Road,” and an acting nomination for Hahn.

Amazon Prime’s freshman comedy Overcompensating debuted out of the gate with several recognitions, with acting nominations for creator/writer/lead actor Benito Skinner, Best LGBTQ TV Show, Best Unsung TV Show, and a much-deserved Best Supporting TV Performance (Comedy) for Holmes.

Additionally, in celebration of the current Sarah Michelle Gellar renaissance era, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer star has landed a first-time nomination for the coveted TV Icon Award.

Winners will be announced Tuesday, July 8th at 8am PST. A complete list of nominees is listed below.
